PHYSICAL OR SPIRITUAL?

But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
2 Corinthians 3:18 KJV

In this life there are many things that are deemed physical imperfections.

A lot of them are related to our body in general. Be it freckles, body weight,  height, skin tone, dimples; all other bodily appearances.

We try to correct them as much as possible.  Sometimes successfully, other times we just have to live with them.

We also have what is called inherited character traits or flaws, in the form of being abusive, talking badly of or to others, basically any unpleasant or unacceptable behavior.

Instead of trying to overcome these flaws, we use them as an excuse to act badly.

That’s where coming to know God comes in.  Following the leading of Christ, through the Word.

He is not looking at the outward appearance or what we look like. He is looking at the inner appearance, our spirit.

When we give ourselves to God, then the veil of worrying about our physical appearance and are character flaws are taken away.

We obtain the spiritual knowledge and the spiritual courage we need to take care of our bodies and our minds and to live according to the Word.

By giving ourselves to Christ and living by God’s commandments, our hearts and minds are set free and we can enjoy life.

A WORD OF PRAYER

God, Our Father, we thank you for the transforming power of the Word and the working of the Holy Spirit. We sincerely see Christ, as the glass of his word, as a shining reflection from a mirror. A reflection that causes all our physical and spiritual needs to change and shine as He shines before us.  We know there are more changes to come in our lives. We praise you for the changes. We know they are the best things for us.

In Jesus Name, Amen
