Remember the days when it was nothing for a parent to publicly chastise a child for their misbehavior.
Some might think it was wrong but the parent knows what things they are trying to instill in their child. One being how to be obedient and follow instructions.
We have even heard other parents say to their children, “See that’s what happens when you don’t listen.”
The bottom line is, our parents chastised because they wanted the best of their child or children
God also disciplines His children.
He expresses a sharp disapproval regarding any behavior or actions that go against what He has taught, or tries to teach us, through the Word.
His punishment is far greater than anything our parents or mankind could put on us.
A punishment so great that we, who are watching, fear that it could happen to us.
The Father disciplines in an effort to restore us and put an end to the existence of sin.
That’s why we must be an example and continually do what is right.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, we know that You have given us the Word to teach us how we are to behave in life. Our parents, ordained ministers and other followers help to guide us in the right direction, but, in the end, it is up to us. Let us be good examples that all can be free from sin if they follow Your Word.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
