As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. Revelation 3:19 KJV
There are always times when we look at something and it does not look right,
We have a desire to change it.
Say we hang a picture on the wall. We step back and look at it.
We realize that it is crooked, so we take the time to straighten it out.
Knowing that things make a greater impression when done the right way.
The same can hold true with our lives.
Each day we are faced with making the right decisions.
We look at the things that are occurring in our lives.
Knowing that there are things in our lives that really need correcting.
Will we make the right decisions, or will we find ourselves in an even worse situation?
In Revelation 3, verses 14-19 KJV, Laodicea was a city that was well-off.
They were able to do things most beneficial to their lives.
This wealth caused them to feel they were self-sufficient, but they were not.
Their position caused them to feel like they did not need Jesus.
That is when Jesus felt the need to have a conversation with them about their sins against Him.
He expressed His disapproval of their actions.
He said, “So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth” (Revelation 3:16 KJV).
This verbal form of discipline was being done in love and in hopes that they would change their ways.
That they would turn to doing things in a righteous manner.
He was affording them the chance to repent (Revelations 3:10 KJV).
The Savior is always letting us know when we are making wrong decisions.
He is constantly trying to tell us what the right way is.
The right ways that keep us from the bondage of sin.
It is up to us to listen and obey.
To stay on the right track.
He has a multitude of hidden treasures in store for all that live according to the Word.
He is always trying to make our crooked ways straight.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Savior, we know that You are our prime example of what it means to be faced with temptations. You overcame them all. Making a way for us all. To this day, You are still so graciously providing us with Your Word and the Holy Spirit. The time is now for us to part with sin and self-confidence. To repent and renew or fellowship with You. Thank You for giving us the opportunity to do it.
In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
