And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. Ephesians 3:19 KJV
Expressing our thankfulness is a way to show love.
The singing of Gospel Hymns is just one of the way a person or congregation gives worship and praise to the Lord.
In the days of slavery, many used them to express their situation.
It was their way to express their appreciation to God.
To let others, know about the path they were taking.
The spiritual quality of it not only was a way to worship but bring people together.
To help them prepare for the things to come.
To remind them of where their help was coming from.
The hymns were simple, emotional, and poetic.
To this day, the singing of hymns is still a way to worship God.
Still one of the ways to thank Him for the love and goodness He has shown.
Paul had his way of expressing his appreciation for the love he was receiving from God.
How His love was breathtaking and Divine.
He even prayed for other believers.
That they “May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height” (Ephesians 4:18 KJV).
That they would, “Know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that [they] might be filled with all the fulness of God” (Ephesians 4:19 KJV).
That should be the prayer for all our lives.
When we begin to really study these verses about God’s love, we read what other Bible scholars believe.
The Lord has given them the ability to help others come to an understanding of the Word.
Bible scholars believe that “width” refers to His worldwide embrace (John 3:16 KJV).
That the Lord’s love is not just for one set of people. but all of us.
“Length” is its existence through all ages (Ephesians 3:21 KJV).
The love He has shown is see from Genesis to Revelation.
From the time of birth to the end of time, when the rapture occurs and beyond.
“Depth” is its profound wisdom (Romans 11:33 KJV).
His love grants us wisdom and knowledge.
All that is needed to survive in this world.
And “ height” is its victory over sin opening the way to Heaven (Ephesians 4:8 KJV).
We grow more in salvation when we acknowledge his love.
We grow more grateful for all that He is doing is our lives.
Sin has no place in our lives and can no longer hinder our growth.
That is why we all should take a moment to appreciate God’s amazing love.
We may not understand everything.
But the more we praise and acknowledge His love for us it becomes easier to live a life that shows Him love.
He deserves that and more.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Savior, there is nothing like the love You show us. It is never-ending. Your love is one that no matter how much we try to explain it, it is something that we each need to experience. Thank You for Your love.
In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
