Worth Repeating – You See What Valuable Information Always Provides

Read: Proverbs 3:1-12

My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments. Proverbs 3:1 KJV

From birth, as parents or guardians, we must continue to provide words of wisdom to our children and loved ones.

Praying that what they learn follows them into their adulthood.

The world is filled with many temptations and what we learn at an early age will continue to guide us throughout our journey in life.

In this chapter, Solomon is giving many instructions to his son.

Teaching him about the benefits of obeying wisdom.

Telling him to keep his trust in the Lord.

About the covenant God of Israel.

The need to keep the commandments and teachings he is speaking to him. (Proverbs 3:1).

Solomon knew the value of getting his son’s attention to these things.

So important that he would repeat them: “Keep my commandments” (v.1). “
“Let not mercy and truth forsake thee” (v.3). “Trust in the Lord” (v.5). “Fear the Lord” (v.7). “Honor the Lord with your possessions” (v.9).

Just some of the things he knew would be a blessing to him.

That is why it is important to tell our children not to forget what they know to be right and to give close attention to their surroundings.

They are also the things that we should be constantly reminding ourselves about.

The more we speak it to them, the more it stays engraved in all our lives.

We are God’s children and need a reminder of how we are to do things every day.

May we all make a commitment to instructing our children, or those around us, in the ways of the Lord.

The times we live in are tough, and we need to do all we can to make sure we obtain and share the knowledge we all need to survive.

Every ounce of wisdom the Lord gives is worth repeating.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, we know that children are a gift from You. Every day let us speak the Words of wisdom needed. Children are a blessing. With Your guidance we will nurture, love, and guide them in the ways of life. Thank You for wisdom and guidance we continue to receive too.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
