There are things in our lives that we all must change.
Many, saved and unsaved, have heard messages that have been effective.
They began to do as the Word says for us to “cast off the works of darkness, and …. put on the armour of light” (Romans 13:12).
For some it was easy. For some it took a little more effort.
We’ve made vows to quit swearing, smoking, lying, gossiping, or anything else that we know is not pleasing to the Lord.
There will be some who say they have no bad habits to give up.
Even with that, they still need to make sure they are living according to the Word.
Striving for perfection should be our goal.
Making sure that the next steps we take are in the right direction.
Ones that keep us going forward and not backwards.
It can be done.
Paul provided encouragement to the Christians around him in Colossians 3 on how this could be done.
As Christians, we are to “put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, long-suffering” (Colossians 3:12. NIV).
He then added, “But above all these things put on love” (Colossians 3:14 NIV).
He saw how important it was for all to stop doing those things which are not beneficial to our lives.
It may be difficult at first.
But stay encouraged and inspired.
Always reminding ourselves of what the Word says.
“And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible” (Mark 10:27 KJV)
When we decide to give our lives to Christ and commit to His ways, we are to remain stedfast in love and godliness.
Our goal in life should be to please Him in everything we do.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Savior, there are many things in our lives that need to be changed. You have given us the ability to acquire perfection. To see, accomplish and make good of our lives. You are our hope for salvation. We give You honor and praise, because we know all our inspiration comes from You and You alone. We are putting on the “armour of light” and keeping it on.
