Don’t Trade Your Blessings

Read: Galatians 6:6-11 / Acts 5:1-11

For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. Galatians 6:8 KJV

In the times of temptation, we are not to give in.

When we give in, it can be the worst decision we make.

It is wise to flee when temptation comes because the temporary joy that it brings is not worth all the troubles and pains we face in the end.

We must remember that God has warned us that we reap what we sow (Galatians 6:7).

It is not wise to give up on the things that God has promised us for the things of this world.

It is a trade-off that isn’t worth making.

The Bible has given us examples of some people who did.

Moses traded the Promised Land for an outburst of anger (numbers 20:7-13.

David traded his reputation for a night of passion (2 Samuel 11).

Ananias and Sapphira traded life for some extra money (Acts 5:11).

In each of these cases, blessings were lost.

We are not to give in to temptation, but cling to Jesus and obey His commands.

Determine in your heart today to never let worldly things take priority when it comes to fellowshipping with Christ.

When we live a life of faith in Christ, we abound in the many graces He has for us.

When we don’t, it is always a bad trade-off.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, we all face some type of temptation every day. It is when we keep our minds on what You have told us can we defeat it. That when we don’t, we will reap what we sow. We want to reap all the blessings You have in store for us. Therefore, we will live according to the Word. Temptation will have no victory over us.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
