But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. Isaiah 64:6 KJV
When something is not clean, we take the time to wash it, until it is. No matter how many times or how long it takes.
We can look at the sins that come in our lives in the same manner.
Daily we need a washing and sometimes it takes more than one wash to get us clean.
Isaiah 64:6 tells us, “We are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags.”
It makes no difference the number of times we sin or how respectable we may be in the eyes of others; we must be willing to admit our guilt. How unclean we really are.
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).
We all need the saving grace that God so desires to give us.
Praying in faith shows that we are holding to His promises.
We should be saying, “Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me” Psalms 51:10.
A guaranteed way we can be made clean and please God.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, we all want to be perfectly whole and do things the right way every day. Each day brings us new challenges. They can be challenges that cause us to do something, whether it is in thought or deed, that are not pleasing. Help us to remember that daily we must pray and ask to be cleansed from all unrighteousness. To be filled with faith. To trust in You to guide us. Thank You for forgiving us and having a chance to do things the right way.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
