Every Situation

Read: Philippians 4:10-20

I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. Philippians 4:12 KJV

We all have our good days and our bad days.

Days when our feelings or situations can determine how we communicate with one another.

Those are the times when we set aside all that we are going through and be a support for one another.

Trusting in the Lord to provide the wisdom we need to help make things better.

Giving us the words that bring new life and joy.

Not ones that are filled with dark clouds that bring pain and sorrow.

While we are helping, we can receive the knowledge we need and see the things that the Lord wants to manifest in our lives.

Knowing that whatever we are going through or who we may encounter, the God of peace is with us (v.9).

Even though the Apostle Paul was in jail and not sure about his future, he still expressed joy regarding the Christians in Philippi.

He did this because he knew God had met his needs through the financial gifts they gave.

Gifts that were given generously even though the Philippian church was not wealthy.

They did not let their poverty keep them from giving to someone else (2 Corinthians 8:1-4).

They were being a blessing despite their situation.

We can express joy in giving too.

We are able because there is One who will meet all our needs “according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19).

God has given each of us the ability to help one another in the time of need.

We are not to let the things of this world cause us to miss out on the blessings that God had determined as best for our lives.

Let us pray that the Lord will speak to our hearts and the Holy Spirit will guide us.

That we patiently submit to Him.

Humbling ourselves and learning “the secret of being content in any and every situation” (Philippians 4:12 NIV).

It is only by His grace we can control our state of mind.

We all need to spend time thanking God for all His provisions.

Our trust in Him for what we need helps us learn the secret of true happiness and satisfaction (vv.12-13).

God’s provisions are far greater than our problems.

With them, what we speak is a message of love that encourages.

Take the time to thank God for all His provisions.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, we know that through Christ we have the grace we need to do what is good. To be content in any and every situation. Knowing that we have all thing through Him. May we be mindful of all the blessings He had given us and be a blessing to others. Let us do it all for His glory.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
