Feelings of Sorrow and Pain

Read: Lamentations 1:9-15

Is it nothing to you, all ye that pass by? behold, and see if there be any sorrow like unto my sorrow, which is done unto me, wherewith the LORD hath afflicted me in the day of his fierce anger. Lamentations 1:12 KJV

There are times when we do something that we come to regret.

Our outward appearance shows how we feel.

We have moments of mental and physical pains.

But it is felt most in our spirit.

We know we have angered the Lord and are extremely distressed about what we have done.

The sense of guilt makes it even harder to bear.

In our times of weeping, we may feel all alone with no one to comfort us (Lamentations 1:2), the Lord is there.

Although the Lord is angry with the way we are living, we can still go to Him in prayer.

Jeremiah prayed.

It was a heart-felt prayer expressing his sorrow, pain and confusion concerning Judah after the fall of Jerusalem.

That even though their outward sufferings were great, their inward sufferings were harder to bear due to their sense of guilt.

The sins that were taking place in their lives and the anger the Lord had regarding them.

Jeremiah knew prayer was the key.

That the Lord was the one to help them bear their grief.

We have had our moments of sorrow and pain.

Showing us that the evil of sin must be avoided.

A warning about the punishments we will face if we don’t.

Even with our learning from the sufferings of Jerusalem, we have more to learn from the sufferings of Christ.

The love and forgiveness He demonstrated on the cross (Luke 23).

The Lord was willing to sacrifice Himself for our sins when no one else would stand with us.

We all can learn from our mistakes in life.

May we all seek to glorify God by the true repentance from sin.

Letting our conversion show others that we have put our faith in Him.

Cheerfully following Him.

Using all our talents to be of service to Him.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Savior, let all our sorrows lead us to the cross, where You made the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. No longer letting sin control us. but giving our lives to You. We are cheerfully following You. Showing the same love, support, and forgiveness You have given us to one another. We are full of gratitude for all that You have done and will do in our lives. Thank You for it all.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
