The Gift of Prayer

Read: 2 Corinthians 1:8-14 / Romans 8:28-34

Ye also helping together by prayer for us, that for the gift bestowed upon us by the means of many persons thanks may be given by many on our behalf. 2 Corinthians 1:11 KJV

There is always a time when someone is going through something in their life.

It can be personal, happening to someone we know or to someone we hear about from another person or on the news.

We all can face a situation that requires the need for support.

The support needed may not come in a physical or monetary way, but it can always come through prayer.

Prayer is our conversation with God.

He is the one who supplies all our needs (Philippians 4:19).

Our past experiences happen to encourage faith and hope.

Putting us in a position to trust in God even more for things that may come in our lives.

Prayer is the greatest way to show support to each other.

Giving all of us the strength we need.

Prayer is the encouragement that helps to build and keep the faith that the Lord is working on their behalf.

We need to pray for each other all the time.

In the New Testament we read about the many occasions the Jesus prayed for others and shows us how He continuously goes to the Father on our behalf.

He is “at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us” (Romans 8:34).

The Lord could have stopped praying for us when He died on the cross, but to this day, He is still expressing His care and concern for us to the Father.

With everything that is going on in the world today, it is even more important for us to follow the Lord’s example.

The one that shows our love to others can come through our prayers.

The Savior has told us, “Let not your heart be troubled” (John 14:1).

That we are to continually accept His invitation to pray.

To come to the Father’s house and find rest.

God is there to help and intervene in our lives.

How our prayers can make an impact on our lives, as well as, someone else’s life.

They make it possible for the Lord to bring peace to our souls.

They bind up the broken-hearted, heal painful wounds and give hope and joy in the heaviest of sorrows.

The remission for our sins come through prayer.

It builds a greater relationship with the Holy Spirit.

Making it possible to enjoy the rich mercies of grace the Father desires for each of us.

Both trials and mercies will end in good to us and others, when we pray for one another.

All our comforts come from God, and our sweetest comforts are in Him.

Let us find the strength and time to pray for someone else today.

We help each other by our prayers.

It can really make a difference in someone’s life.

Don’t stop praying.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, we are living testimonies of how prayer is the best way for us to communicate with You. That You are always there for us. We know it is Your desire that we not only be there for one another in prayer but in all we do, give You praise and thanksgiving. Prayer is the key, and our faith unlocks all the doors of blessings You have for us. The hope and trust we put in You is not in vain and we are not ashamed to put our trust in You. We pray for the strength and guidance You give, so we can be there to pray for and with each other, just like You did for all of us. Thank You for hearing and answering our prayers.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
