Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Psalms 51:1 KJV
Each of us can admit that we have done something wrong in our lives that needs to be forgiven.
Be it from someone we know or our Heavenly Father.
That when we ask for it, it can be a life-changing event.
A time when we can restore harmony in our friendly relationships.
A time when we repent of our sins and restore the harmony we have with God.
We want forgiveness from both, but most importantly from God.
We can be like David, who knew he had sinned and, with sorrow and shame, cried out to God in prayer for mercy and grace.
He desired to truly repent of his sins and was not ashamed to say it.
We all have sinned and should desire the truth and wisdom we need to make it through the things we face in life (v.6).
God knew that man needed an even greater example regarding the forgiveness of sins.
The forgiveness of our sins and restoring of our harmony with Him was made possible because of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
A blessing available to all who believe.
Those who believe that as backsliding children we can return to Him.
That when we do, we are thoroughly washed and cleansed from the stains of sin. We will be “whiter than snow” (v.7).
All our sins are forgiven, and a new life begins.
A life full of happiness.
So, in the times when we feel guilty for something we have done, remember that the Father is always there to hear our confessions and forgive us.
He is always there for us.
Waiting on us to ask for His mercy and grace.
He wants us to have it.
We can always depend on His never-ending love and compassion.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, as believers we long to be forgiven of our sins. To have them blotted out and be thoroughly washed from all of them. We are thankful for the Divine wisdom and grace You give to us all. How You instruct us on what to do and speak. We appreciate the ever-present love You have for us. Thank You for the love and compassion You show us.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
