Pray without ceasing. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 KJV
During certain seasons there will be times we lose our sources of communication.
None of us like to be in a position where the electricity goes out and we find ourselves unable to use appliances.
Times when we want to watch or hear the news about what is happening.
It is even worse when landlines and cell phones can’t be used.
Both are important forms of communications that we don’t know how quickly they will be restored.
It can be very frustrating and cause some to feel like they are all alone because they have no one to talk too.
While we don’t have the power to contact anyone physically, it is good to know that our Spiritual communication with the Lord is never restricted.
His lines of communication are always open.
We know them as “prayer lines.”
In this reading, Paul wrote to advise the people that they can communicate with God through prayer.
That they should “pray without ceasing” (v.17).
To “rejoice evermore” (v.16) and “in everything give thanks” (v.18).
That no matter what they are going through it is “the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you” (v.18).
That everything He does is designed for our good, even though we may not see it that way.
That is why prayer is the key.
There is never a time when it won’t be heard.
The power line to communicate with Him is never out.
His prayer lines are never down.
Our prayers will always go through.
We can talk to him as long as we want.
It is good to know that no matter the storms or any situation we find ourselves in, we can always go to Him in prayer.
Prayer is our way of showing our continued faith in God.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, we know there will be times when we find it hard to see our way. Troubles are all around us. Troubles that could lead us to sin. To go against Your Word. Those are the times we must come to You in prayer. Knowing it is the key to our having faith in You. Because You have designed the will for our lives, and You designed it all for our good. We may not see it, but You have. We are thankful that You are always there for us. That You always grant us the ability to come to Your throne of grace. Thank You for hearing our prayers.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
