Today’s Reading: 1 Peter 2:1-10
Today’s Verse: “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.” 1 Peter 2:9 KJV
God never makes a mistake. We are chosen for beautiful things. Even when we are in a state of brokenness, the stars are singing our praise. It has nothing to do with our family background or ethnic group. We are picked and valued by Him.
We are a royal priesthood. As Christians we serve as a direct representative between God and others. We each have a role assigned to us.
We are a community of faith. We are set apart to live differently from the world. A holy nation. Committed to living by God’s rules no matter where we live on Earth. We belong completely to God.
That is why we must not get caught up in comparing ourselves to others. We are each original in our own way. To be all that we can be through Christ.
Let go of all the things that try to keep you bound. God is sending us Heavenly blessings every day. We are chosen for beautiful things.
Be determined to continue to share and show God’s goodness and light to others.
I want to end with these additional Scriptures that have great meaning about us being chosen.
Romans 8:28 KJV – “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
Ephesians 1:4 KJV – “According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love.”
Jeremiah 1:5 KJV – “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5 KJV
We are chosen!
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, we are thankful that You have chosen us, even in our broken state. You have chosen us for beautiful things. We are a royal priesthood and want to represent You in a beautiful way. No longer comparing ourselves to others. You have called us out of darkness into Your marvelous light and we are thankful. Help us to always remember that when we feel weak or lost, we belong to You. We want to live a life that honors You. We want to share Your goodness and light with others. Thank You for it all.
