Sure Life – The Wonderful Healing Power of Kind Words

Today’s Reading: Proverbs 16:21-27

Today’s Verse: “Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.” Proverbs 16:24 KJV

Kind and encouraging words will always have the powerful ability to bring us deep emotional comfort. The power to bring physical well-being to others.

The power of speech. That is what today’s verse is telling us. Wise words carry a deep positive impact.

We know that honey brings instant pleasure and energy. In the ancient world natural honey was prized. Prized for its rich sweetness and restorative medicinal value. A sweetness to the soul which refreshes a person’s inner emotions and mind. It brings joy, comfort, and peace. We know kind words are naturally attractive and very refreshing.

The “health to the bones” represents the core of a person’s physical and structural strength. That gentle speech and encouraging words provides real, restorative health for a person’s whole life. It shows that good words can lift a heavy spirit. That can relieve deep sadness, stress, and emotional hurt. It can have a positive impact on our physical health. To our overall well-being. It shows us the strong link between emotional encouragement and our bodily strength.

There will be times we have to pause before we speak. Choose silence when needed. Lift up the weary. Practice self-kindness.

Always remembering, we can apply Proverbs 16:24 KJV to our lives. To use kind, uplifting speech. Use words that heal and encourage those around us. To apply the same grace we offer others to ourselves.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, We thank You for the gift of speech. For reminding us that pleasant words are like a honeycomb. Ones that bring sweetness to the soul and healing to the body. Please continue to guard our mouths today. Cleanse our hearts. We want our words to reflect Your love. When we talk to our families, friends, and strangers, give us patience and kindness. We want to lift others up and not tear them down. We want our words to be a source of comfort for the weary. Peace for those who are troubled. We want Your grace to flow through us in every conversation. Thank You for always being there for us.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
