Clean It Up

Read: James 1:16-27

But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. James 1:25 KJV

As a mirror is something that reflects our image.

Showing what we look like on the outside.

We use it to examine ourselves to see if anything needs to be changed.

Like combing our hair, washing our face, are our clothes straight and presentable.

The Bible is like a mirror.

When we read it and look at ourselves, it reveals our inner being.

The sins that need to be washed from our lives.

That Christ’s blood is the water that washes away all our sins.

Showing us what our inner being should look like.

Giving us the ability to make the necessary changes.

It helps us to really look at our character, attitude, thoughts, and behavior (James 1:23-24).

Making it possible for us to align our lives according to the principles of what God has shown us.

We will watch how we speak and look after those who are orphaned and widows (vv.26-27).

Paying close attention to God’s Holy Spirit within us and keep ourselves from being caught up in the things of this world (v.27).

The perfect law that gives us freedom and applies it over our lives, blessing us in what do (v.27).

As we look into the mirror of Scripture, we can humbly accept the Word planted in each of us (21).

We will become the mirror image that reflects the spiritual image within.

Blessed in all our ways.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, when we look in the mirror, we know we are only looking at our outer being. That sometimes we need to make some changes. The same holds true with our inner being too. That when we read and hear the Word we find out what in our inner being needs to be changed. What is necessary for our spiritual lives. in all our ways, let us daily look in our spiritual mirror, the Word. Allowing You to open our eyes and see the wonderful things that You have done and are doing in our lives. Making it possible for us to be blessed and bring us to Heaven.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
