Cry Out – He Hears You

Read: Matthew 27:32-50

And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? Matthew 27:46 KJV

We all know how it can feel when a sudden roar of thunder hits and shakes the house.

It is so loud and heavy that it feels like an earthquake.

It can be frightening.

One can only imagine how It felt, as Jesus hung on the cross and cried out to the Father.

He was becoming low in spirit.

The pain and suffering He was feeling began to cause Him to lose hope and courage.

He got to a point when He “cried with a loud voice, [to the Father] saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?”

Asking Him, “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” (Matthew 27:46).

Words that were saddening and distressing.

It was a cry that pierced the darkness.

It drowned out the sounds of the two criminals beside Him.

It frightened those who were mourning around Him.

It was a cry that shook the earth.

The fellowship between Jesus and God was perfect.

A fellowship that together they created the universe and mankind.

There had never been a time when They had not been in total fellowship with one another.

Things began to change.

For the first time, Jesus found Himself in a position that questioned the Father being with Him as He carried the burden of the sins of the world.

It was the only way, through this time of interrupted fellowship, was it possible for our salvation to be fulfilled.

Jesus made Himself an offering for our sins.

He knew that was the only way man could be saved.

His dying on the cross was a dark and dreadful scene.

But it was a loving sacrifice that made it possible for the redemption and salvation of man.

One that has made it possible for mankind to know that no matter what we are going through, we have not been forsaken.

That because of this sacrifice, the pain and suffering He endured, it is possible for mankind to be forgiven.

Making it possible for mankind to fellowship with God.

A fellowship that gives us the love, support, and strength we need.

So, in the times when we feel like all hope is gone, remember the sacrifice Jesus made for our sins when He died on the cross.

We have not been forsaken or forgotten.

God is with us every step of the way.

We can cry out to Him no matter where we are.

He hears every one of our prayers.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Savior, we are thankful for all the hours You spent in darkness and agony for our sins. For the sacrifice You made for our sins to be forgiven. Knowing we can cry out to You no matter the hour of the day. How because of it all, we are able to fellowship with You and the Father forever. Thank You for it all.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
