Today’s Reading: 1 Corinthians 10:23-33
Today’s Verse: “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31 KJV
“Healthy servings.” The recommended portions of foods. The amount needed to maintain wellness each day.
When we eat balanced meals, our bodies get the vitamins, fiber, and energy they need. This helps prevent overeating.
As Christians we must take care not to use our freedom from Spiritual bondage to hurt others. The glory of being free. To serve God, without hesitation. The freedom to love others. We can express earnest disapproval. A sincere warning. Helpful words to guide each other. We want the best for them and ourselves.
In eating, drinking, and in all we do, we should focus on the glory of God. Always pleasing and honoring Him.
Apostle Paul encouraged the people. We should treat each task as an act of worship. Doing it with a heart that honors God.
It is showing that basic human acts show that no part of our lives is neutral. They should reflect God’s goodness.
Paul is also encouraging all believers to reflect on the unity of the church. To look beyond our own personal rights.
God did all of this on purpose. He wanted us to shift how we think. He wanted us to no longer focus on our self-interests. A choice to do things with wisdom. To make wise decisions in our relationships. Being responsible for all our actions.
He wants us to focus on the purpose He has for our lives.
He wants us to have a spirit that is holy. A spirit that is peaceable. A spirit that is benevolent. A spirit that will always disarm the greatest enemies.
Each day we are to have healthy servings of the Word. Our way of honoring our bodies as a temple. For honoring God.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, all we do should be done to Your glory. We want to live in a way that honors You. We must all continue to be educated and renewed through the study of Scripture and truth. We do not want to be burdened with guilt. Let our hearts and minds remain fixed on You. We want to see Your glory in everything we do. Thank You for Your amazing grace. Thank You for the life You have given us. Continue to transform our hearts. We want everything we do today, no matter how great or small, to be done for Your glory. Guide our words, our actions, and our everyday routines. We want to live a life that honors You,
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
