For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God. Job 19:25-26 KJV
Faith looks beyond any ailments or fears we may encounter in life.
There are many who have survived through many trials in their lives.
Some gave up hope that things would change, while others held steadfast to the Word.
Knowing that although it may not end the way that they desired, they kept the faith.
The never-ending thoughts of death and suffering can be scary.
With faith we can clearly focus on the things that are to come.
By faith, we know that beyond death, there is a resurrection of the body.
That for those who love the Lord and live according to the Word, there is an even greater reward.
A reunion with our loved ones and a home in Heaven.
In today’s Scripture, we see that even Job complained about his trials.
He expressed negative feelings and thoughts concerning death and the things that were happening in his life.
But he never lost his faith in God.
He saw that beyond the grave he would be shown to be right.
That the Father knew and would show that he was the victim of false and unfair claims.
That despite all that was going on in his life, he would receive the rewards of the Father.
With all that Job went through, the Father was teaching him to believe in a living Redeemer.
To look for the resurrection of the dead, and the glorious life of the world to come.
With this knowledge Job found comfort.
All of us can find comfort in knowing that the Lord is the Redeemer of our sins.
That the yoke of Satan the condemnation of sin is broken.
That salvation is ours.
We should never let go of our faith.
No matter what we may be going through remember that by faith, although our days may seem dark, by faith, the Savior is the light that shines through it all.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, we know we will have days when they are dark and filled with doubts and fears. May these faithful sayings of Job be engraved by the Holy Spirit upon our hearts. That we receive the grace and knowledge only You can give. Our faith goes beyond the things of this world. We are certain that because of our faith, hope and trust we have a place in Heaven with You.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
