Today’s Reading: Revelation 22:6-19
Today’s Verse: “And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.” Revelation 22:12 KJV
Prophetic Visions. They are messages or mental pictures that come from God or the Holy Spirit.
They can come in the form of a waking dream. Some may be a clear symbolic picture.
They are used to warn and protect us. They can offer comfort. They can call for a change in our behavior.
Ezekiel saw grand, symbolic wheels and creatures that represented God’s glory (Ezekiel 1:4-28 KJV, Ezekiel 3:13 KJV, Ezekiel 10:9-17).
Daniel witnessed visions. He saw the rise and fall of future kingdoms (Daniel Chapters 2, 7,8,11 &12 KJV).
Paul received a blinding vision. It was of Jesus on the road to Damascus. It changed his life (Acts 9:1-19 KJV, Acts 22:6-21 KJV, Acts 26:12-18 KJV).
Revelation 22:12 KJV is the last Bible verse in the New Testament. It brings the message regarding the promise Jesus made about His sudden return. The fact that we will all be fairly judged based on our lives and work.
Our reminder that the Lord had told us to always stay spiritually alert and ready because the moment is unexpected. A return that we all need to be prepared for.
We want to be prepared for the spiritual rewards that He has for each of us. The great reward promised for overcoming trials, persecution, and temptation. The promise of eternal life, an intimate fellowship with Christ and divine authority. But most of all, a permanent place in God’s presence.
“Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.” Revelation 22:14 KJV
We each have a purpose in life. We do not want Him to catch us with our work undone.
We want to receive His reward.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, help us to live for You daily. We know that You see everything that we do. We do not want our lives to be filled with pain and wrong choices. Clean our hearts and fix our eyes on You. Give us the strength to love others, do good works, and walk in Your ways. We do not want to waste our days on things that do not last. We want to bring honor to Your name. We want to have a true home with You. Thank You for leading and guiding us.
