Favorable Acceptance

Read: 1 Timothy 1:12-17

This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. 1 Timothy 1:15 KJV

There are times when we confuse what it means to receive grace and mercy from the Lord.

Grace is given to us even when we do not deserve it.

Mercy is not receiving what we really do deserve.

They go hand in hand.

When we sin, we are breaking “the whole law” that the Lord had given us, not just one (James 2:10).

We must be faithful in reading and living according to the Word.

Because of his years of sacrificial service, Paul saw himself as the “chief” of sinners and totally dependent on God’s mercy.

In a letter to Timothy, Paul told him that he would have perished if the Lord had been extreme to point out what wasn’t right in his life.

How without His grace and mercy, he would have been dead in sin.

All this was possible because of Paul’s faith and the love of Christ that he had in his heart. His desire to live according to the Word.

Jesus paid the price for the sins of us all so we could receive grace and mercy.

A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, grace, and mercy, we desire to receive both. We know the only way we do is by confessing our sins and vowing not to let them have control of our lives. Thank You for Your amazing love and dying on the cross for our sins.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
