Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil. Ephesians 4:26-27 KJV
We have a common enemy, Satan.
He is always looking for ways to cause problems.
Those are the times when setting aside our differences for each other and combining our forces will beat the threat of the enemy.
When we realize this, there is greater understanding and desire to set aside any differences.
To put away our personal dislikes, our anger, and any self-centered desires.
The things that cause division in our lives.
Allowing our spiritual nature to be in control.
Making for a more pleasant atmosphere.
That is what Paul is telling us.
We will all have our moments when we want to express our displeasure of what is wrong, to take actions, but we are to do it without sin (Ephesians 4:26).
To handle it God’s way.
When we don’t, we “give place to the devil” (v. 27).
Satan wants to divide and conquer.
For he likes nothing better than to see us fighting with one another.
Keeping us from doing what is right.
As children of God we are to unite and conquer.
Showing that our desire is do what is pleasing and right.
Knowing our faith and obedience to the Word leads to victory.
That when we lay down at night, our rest will be peaceful, not stressful.
Giving us the strength we need to press on.
One of the many things God desires for our lives.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Savior, help us to make the changes in our lives. Changes that keep us from doing things based on wrong emotions. Those of anger, personal dislikes and self thinking. The sins that go against all that You desire for our lives. Our faith leads to victory over all things. Let us remain steadfast in the Word. It is where all our strength lies.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
