Look Toward the Lord

Read: Psalms 25:14-22

Mine eyes are ever toward the LORD; for he shall pluck my feet out of the net. Psalms 25:15 KJV

Loneliness isn’t always the absence of other people around us.

It can also be an inner absence in which we don’t have an awareness of our true selves.

Our true selves being our spirit, which is infinite and eternal.

Knowing that no matter how often we feel alone, we are not.

The Lord is always there for us to talk too.

We don’t have to worry; we are never alone.

He guides our footsteps every day.

David experienced loneliness when he was alone in the fields.

He was out there with only his sheep and the occasional predators he saw.

Even later in life, he wrote, “I am desolate and afflicted” (v.16).

But he didn’t let this feeling to overtake him.

Because of his faith, he didn’t allow loneliness to cause him to stay low in spirit.

He didn’t lose hope or courage.

Instead, he sang words of encouragement.

Reminding himself that he was not alone.

He knew God was with him.

Jesus even knew what it meant to have thoughts of being left alone!

In John 16:32, He said, “Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.”

He did not let those thoughts overtake Him.

He knew He would be comforted even in the face of being abandoned.

Never alone.

There will be times when we all will face loneliness.

It is a part of human nature.

When it tries to take hold of us, we need to remember to turn our focus away from what we don’t have, all the negatives, and focus on what we do have, all the positives.

We have the Lord and all the blessings He is willing and able to bestow on each one of us.

He has promised too always be there for us.

We are never alone.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Lord, loneliness is something we all feel at some time. It is a prat of human nature. But we have a Spirit that is infinite and eternal. Ours because we put our faith in You. We know You are with us always. That You are walking beside us, guiding our footsteps every day. We are never alone. Thank You Savior.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
