And Esau ran to meet him, and embraced him, and fell on his neck, and kissed him: and they wept. Genesis 33:4 KJV
No one can deny that they have never been hurt by something that was said or done to them.
Healthy relationships require all involved to unite.
The parties involved may not necessarily agree with how something was done, but to know how to truly handle it without causing more trouble or pain is needed.
We can do this when we are prayerful and forgiving.
An action that takes us one step closer to bringing peace to a situation.
It can be hard but it is the best way to resolve any conflicts.
The story of two brothers, Jacob and Esau, shows us just how difficult reconciliation can be, but that it can be done.
How it involves risks, sacrifices, and even injury.
How it takes faith and trust in God to get through it all.
Jacob had stolen Esau’s blessing and Esau had every reason to be upset.
He even, at one point, wanted to kill him.
Despite all they had gone through, Jacob and Esau decide to have a friendly meeting.
Jacob was coming with fear and a feeling of distrust.
While Esau was coming with love and forgiveness.
When Esau saw Jacob, he ran to greet his brother.
He had a change in heart, embraced him, kissed him and broke into tears.
He had hopes that they could continue their life journeys together.
God has the hearts of all men in His hands.
He has the power to turn hearts around when and how he pleases.
It is not in vain to trust in God.
It is in our best interest to call upon Him in the times of trouble.
When our ways please the Lord, He will make even our enemies to be at peace with us.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, You are the one that leads and guides us. When we start to feel resentment due to the circumstances around us, remind us that You have prepared a table for us and You can give us peace. Thank You for the anointing and blessings received in every area of our lives.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
