Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16 KJV
An “open line” is usually referring to a telephone line.
One that is used to permit listeners or viewers to contact a program with comments, questions, or requests.
They can even be used to allow conference calls, where meetings can take place.
We know that sometimes there are problems making contact because so many people are calling in.
Access numbers for conference calls don’t seem to be working.
Events where there is only so much time allowed for someone to call in.
Sometimes the phone lines go out and no one can get through.
Making it impossible to for some to discuss the issue at hand or get an answer to a problem or concern.
That is why it good to know that we don’t need a telephone line to have a meeting or conference call with the Lord.
We don’t even have set a meeting time to call.
And there is no limitation on how long the call can last.
Prayer is the “open line” that is always available when we call on the Lord.
Just like the Christians in Acts 4, we have direct access to God.
There is never a day or night that God doesn’t hear our prayers.
That is why we are encouraged by the Lord to come boldly to the throne of grace.
Getting the mercy and grace we need.
Mercy to pardon all our sins.
Grace to purify our souls.
He will never withhold His love and grace when it comes to His children.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, we know what it means to get a busy signal when we try to call someone. What it means to not be able to talk or ask a question on a conference call. To get a chance to explain a situation and ask for forgiveness. That’s why we are so thankful that this is not the case when call on You. Knowing that we can call on You, tell You all about our problems, ask for forgiveness and get much needed advice is a blessing. Thank You for having an open line of communication. A line of mercy and grace.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
