Think Before You Speak

Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbour: I am the LORD. Leviticus 19:16 KJV

A person who spreads gossip or rumors is known as a talebearer.

They usually talk about the faults of others to direct attention away from their own shortcomings.

To be a talebearer, and to sow discord among neighbors, is as bad an office as any man can put himself into.

As followers of Christ, we should be mindful of what we speak.

We are to speak out only if our words are ones that can help and not harm.
To “THINK” before you speak means a lot.

T = Is what you say True?
H = Is what you say Helpful?
I = Is what you say Inspiring?
N = Is what you say Necessary?
K = Is what you say Kind?

Our words are to be of comfort, praise and cheer. Not ones that do harm.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Lord, guard our tongues and keep watch over the doors of our lips that we speak no harm to anyone. That what we speak brings comfort, praise and cheer. Let us remember to “THINK” before we speak.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
