There was a time when I would carry a small notebook with me, journaling things that were happening over a day. Sometimes I would do it when it happened or sometimes during the week as I reflected on it.
A journal could also be helpful to someone else who may be going through similar occurrences, experiences, or observations. They see how someone else handled certain things.
Portions of Psalms is a journal in which the writer is describing what he is going through and how praise was bringing him through it all.
This short passage of Psalms encourages us to praise the Lord every day because “great is His love towards us” (v.2).
Taking note of the things that cause us to give God praise is good. It reminds us that He is ever-present and to be grateful for His provisions and care.
Think about it: The Lord has shown His love towards us every day, week, month and year. His love is seen in every circumstance of our lives. It is there for our families, our church and many others, those we know and those we don’t know.
Whether we keep a journal or not, let us never forget how much He loves us and that His faithfulness lasts forever.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, if we recorded all the blessings You bestowed on us. we wouldn’t have enough room to store it. As Your dearly loved children, may we continue to praise and thank You for all the love You have shown and continue to show in our lives. Praises to You today and forevermore.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
