The scope of the epistle is to show, that all hope of man’s redemption is founded on Christ.
That in Him alone we find complete fulness, perfections, and sufficiency.
The Colossians are cautioned against the devices of teachers who taught how to live according to Jewish customs.
Cautioned against the desires of carnal wisdom, human inventions and traditions.
These cautions were given because they do not show a total trust in Christ.
All things were created by Him and for Him.
They were made by His power, according to His pleasure, and for His praise and glory.
He knows all about the struggles we may face.
So, when we are facing any large or small challenges in our day-to-day lives, we must remember we can call on the One who made the universe, died, and rose again, for all of us.
He has already won victory over anything we may encounter.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, we are so grateful that You are greater than our minds can ever imagine. Your grace cannot be measured, Your mercy is forever flowing, and we cannot express the appreciation we have for the peace You bestow on us. Help us to continue to put or trust in You.
