Authentic Love: It Will Make You Change Your Ways

Read: 1 Peter 1:17-25 / Philippians 2:5-11

Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.

1 Peter 1:18-19 KJV

We all know that love can be shown in many ways.

It is mainly described as an affection that is deep and emotional.

One that shows there is true dedication to someone or something.

In a letter that Paul sent to the Philippians, he gave them a description of how Jesus made His descent from the heights of glory to the depths of shame and agony and back again (Matthew 2:5-11 KJV).

It is hard to imagine what the distance was from sitting at the throne of God’s splendor down to the threatening situation that the Savior faced on the cross at Calvary.

The Savior, being found in the fashion as a man, humbled Himself and became obedient unto death, even the death on the cross (Philippians 2:8 KJV).

He had a want for nothing.

He had everything He needed sitting at the right hand of the Father.

But He chose to show His love towards us.

Christ is our Redeemer.

The Lord of everything that exists.

He is to be held in very high regard above all the earth’s foulness and decay.

We “were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold.”

Not even “from [our] vain conversation received by tradition from [our] fathers.”
We were redeemed “with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot” (1 Peter 1:18-19 KJV).

By His precious blood He paid the price for our redemption.

He broke the chains of sin to make it possible for us to have an eternal gift of salvation.

One that, by faith, we become one with Him and His glory is the assurance that where He is we shall be also (John 14:3 KJV).

That’s love!

He is the Source of Life.

A Light that shines in every dark area of our lives.

Our souls are purified.

That is why we should never forget the distance the Lord took from God’s throne to Calvary.

It was the greatest showing of love, mercy, and grace.

Because of the love He has shown us, we should be motivated to do His bidding of showing love to those who are lost or have lost their way.

Love is the key, and our faith unlocks the doors that keep the blessings flowing that He has for us.

With Him, we have everything we need.

Daily, we should be singing praises in His name.

Our Redeemer yet lives and is showing us love.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Thanks be to God for the precious blood of Christ. The blood of a lamb without blemish and without spot. We thank Him for the Word. Everything You have done, has been done out of the love You have for us. It is a love that is planted in our hearts by the Holy Spirit and is shown each day of our lives. It is how our spiritual lives totally change our way of thinking and doing things. Making it where our souls long to do things according to His will. It breaks the bondage of sin and opens our eyes to salvation’s plan. One that will bring us eternal life. Thank You Father.

In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
