Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever. Psalms 23:6 KJV
In this reading we see that David was certain about how the goodness and the mercy of the Lord would follow him all the days of his life.
He knew that the Lord was his strength and protection.
Always there in the good and the bad times.
It is a truth that should give every trusting child of God the assurance they need.
An assurance that we should dwell on today and from this day forward.
Remembering that all our past experiences happened to help teach us to trust in the goodness and mercies of God.
They are the ones that will follow us no matter who we are, where we are, or what our status in life may be.
That He is there to guide and protect us.
We are in a new and uncertain year. No one can be certain of the things we will face.
But what we do know is that by faith we will be blessed and succeed in the journey He has prepared for each of us.
Knowing that while we are here, the Lord can make any situation a pleasant one.
One that ends victoriously.
His great anointing of His Spirit will prevail, and the joys of His salvation will always be found.
Giving us an even greater desire and determination to seek our happiness in the service of God and to enjoy His love forevermore in Heaven.
So going forward on this day, be satisfied with the blessings He has bestowed.
Looking forward to the blessings yet to come.
Keeping close to Him, while being a witness to the love He has for us.
Staying rooted and grounded in the Word.
It’s another year.
Get ready to receive even greater things.
Acknowledging that He has a big plan for your life.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Dear Father, another year is dawning. Another year we must keep our hopes and trust in You. You have always provided us with goodness and mercy. Always being a shoulder we could lean on. You encouraged us to remain steadfast in the Word to help avoid the troubles of life or how to deal with them when they happened. This is going to be another year where we put our trust in You. Be a witness to the love You have for us. Continuing to the one always ready to learn more of what You have for our lives. Father we are thankful for Your guidance here on earth and the Heavenly Blessings that are still to come.
In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
