And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John 1:14 KJV
In all honesty, not many of us would be willing to give up ‘everything’ we have to help someone else.
That is not to say there isn’t anyone who wouldn’t, it just isn’t a common thing.
There are some who would do all that they could to help them.
Some offering to give up something of value to help, but just not everything.
Many have tried and because of the response no longer felt it was worth it.
The same could be said of how people handled themselves in the Bible days.
There were some who would help each other and those who took advantage of others because of their need.
Thankfully the Father did not give up on them.
He saw what was happening and sent a solution.
Because of His love for us there was One.
The One who was willing to make a sacrifice even greater than anything we can ever give.
The Father knew what it meant to sacrifice it all for the saving of mankind.
Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came from the glories of Heaven.
He spent 33 years on earth with men and women who were in spiritual poverty.
The Lord was able to identify with all our weaknesses.
He did it by taking on the “form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men” (Philippians 4:7 KJV).
He did even more for us when He died on the cross to deliver us from judgement.
The Lord came to dwell with us, seeing firsthand what the men and women were going through.
He made the ultimate sacrifice for our salvation.
All so we could behold His glory.
The glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
All over the world there are churches, missions, and other non-profit organizations.
They have made it their goal to help those in need and provide inspiration.
We can all help to achieve their goal.
Giving just a little of our time is a valuable way to show a sacrifice of love.
A desire to see that someone gets the attention they need.
To be a disciple of the same love the Lord has shown to us.
Be the one willing to make a sacrifice.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, the sending of Christ was the ultimate way You chose to help us. We received the gift of grace, so rich and much needed. We can never truly repay all the good will towards us, but we can vow to live according to the Word. To show love to others, like You have shown to each of us. The good will and the good works You have bestowed on us should give us the strength to fulfill the missions that You give us. Thank You for becoming the flesh that dwelt among us. You are the greatest example of sacrifice known to any of us.
In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
