Powerful Prayers

And the children of Israel said to Samuel, Cease not to cry unto the LORD our God for us, that he will save us out of the hand of the Philistines.
1 Samuel 7:8 KJV

Not a day goes by when someone we know comes to us or comes to mind, and we are deeply concerned about their welfare and well-being.

As we read this chapter of Samuel, we see how he interceded for God’s people as they faced troubles.

How we can be strengthened in our ability to pray for the ones we love and care about.

The Israelites had faced the threat of the Philistines. They had previously been defeated by them because they did not trust in God.

After repenting of their sins and the Philistines were again about to attack them, they asked Samuel to continue to pray for them.

Sometimes we need someone to intercede on our behalf, especially when we know we can’t handle things on our own.

We need a prayer-warrior.

And even though the enemy thinks he is mighty in his efforts to overtake us, the Lord is stronger. He hears and answers our prayers.

It is a great comfort, as believers, to know that our great Intercessor above never ceases and is never silent. That the Lord always appears in the presence of God for us.

Because of Samuel’s praying, God gave a gracious answer. Defeating the enemy.

When we dwell over the challenges facing those we love, and fear the situation won’t change, don’t be tempted to think that the Lord will not intercede on their behalf.

Never underestimate the power of prayer, for our loving God hears every one of our pleas.

We may not know how, or when, He will move on them, but we know He will. Continue to love and trust in His faithfulness.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, we know there will be times when we need someone to pray for us. Give us the wisdom to be like Samuel, able to do the same for others. We know that You will answer. Strengthening our faith and belief. Thank You for always being there for us.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
