Promising Results – Always Better To Think Before You Speak

Read: Romans 14:1-13

But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. Romans 14:10 KJV

It is a given that we all have our way of doing things.

Our thought patterns may seem similar but in some areas our opinions are very different.

For some it causes moments where an argument can occur.

In others, we agree to disagree and move on.

In any occurrence, we are not to sit in judgment of each other because our opinions differ.

The Lord is the only one who can sit in judgement of anyone.

Never forgetting where we will wind up if we don’t constantly consider what God’s Word is telling us.

In Romans 14, Paul has told us that we have an appointed time when we have to go before God and give Him an account of all our actions (vv. 10-12).

That we are to be careful of our actions as they may cause those Christians that are weak to stumble.

For each of us, as Christians, our personal convictions should be guided by the Word.

Remember, the Scripture has warned us that, “for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ” (v.10).

None of us are perfect.

We all make mistakes.

We are all being worked on, every day.

We all need to be thankful that the Lord gives us an opportunity to correct ourselves.

Judge not, our day to stand before the “True Judge” is yet to come.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, we know that there is a right way and a wrong way to do things. None of us are perfect and really should not sit in judgement of anyone else. Help us to remember that one day we have to answer to You. Before we get to that place, please remind us of what we need to change because of where we are headed.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
