Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his days be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him. Ecclesiastes 8:12 KJV
There will always be a time when we reflect on the life, we are leading and the lives of those around us.
Reading about or seeing those who have prospered in a not so pleasing way, while others are struggling to make ends meet.
Remembering what the Lord has told us.
He has told us, “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not “(Galatians 6:9 KJV).
The things we obtain and the way we obtain them, has an influence in our lives.
They are only temporary though.
That although we feel like life is unfair, we must remember that the Lord knows what we need and what He desires for our lives.
That our concern should be that we not let worldly desires control our lives.
Knowing that, in the end we all must give an account to the Father regarding how we have lived.
That should be our main concern.
When we are living according to the Word, we will have even greater blessings in the end.
In the Bible, Solomon, the writer of Ecclesiastes, made similar observations of the people around him.
He noted that the wicked people around him were getting ahead, while the godly ones were falling behind.
He did not let it affect him, instead he remained hopeful and confident about what the future would bring.
He did it because he believed in a righteous God.
The One who would make things right in the end.
The Lord has told us not to worry about those who profit from sin.
That is not the way He wants us to live.
We are to remember His ways to avoid the chastisements that will come in the end (Ecclesiastes 6:12-13 KJV).
They may prosper in this world, but it will not be well in the end.
All evil will be punished.
It will happen because we know our righteous, ever-loving, and all-powerful God is the One in control.
That is why Solomon is telling us we are to enjoy the life that the Father has given us (Ecclesiastes 6:15 KJV).
When we live according to His ways, He always supplies our needs.
He always knows what is best for us.
The things that keep us from living a life of sin.
Let us never forget that life has an eternal meaning.
Enjoying every gift that God has given us.
We are His children.
As His children we can overcome the things of this world, because greater is He that in us than anything this world can ever do for us.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, each day we see those who are living a life of luxury, but forgetting how they really obtained it. That there are those who desire to have more and because of these influences go the wrong way. You are the One who has rewarded us with everything we have. We are never to forget that because of You our lives can be filled with joy. That the things we obtain in the world are temporary, but what we have in You is eternal. Help us to remember that everything You do is real and important in our lives. Thank You Father.
In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
