Strong: Here’s What Happens When We Eat Good Food

Read: Joshua 1:1-18 / Psalms 119:1-10 / 2 Timothy 3:10-17

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Joshua 1:8 KJV

Everyone knows that our bodies are always in need of nourishment.

We all know that what we eat plays a great part in how we feel throughout the day.

How well we rest at night.

For us to receive the nourishment our bodies need, we must choose the right foods to feed on.

They all must be digested properly.

How we chew our food determines if when we swallow it will go down the right way to our stomachs.

There it is digested and the nutrients it holds distributed throughout our bodies.

Giving us the strength we need for the day.

The Word of God is our Spiritual Food.

Our intake of the Word determines how much our spiritual bodies are nourished.

We must be mindful of what we are receiving.

The more we eat proper food, the better our lives will be.

We want to digest all that the Father is feeding us.

As His truths are received, we are to take careful consideration of what the benefits are.

Putting great thought into how what we are eating will affect our thoughts and behavior.

In today’s Scripture, we see where the Psalmist has told us we are to meditate on the Word.

To take the time to deeply focus our thoughts on what the Father is trying to tell us.

The Bible is our recipe book of the law.

One that we are to feed on every day.

It is the only way we will truly realize all the spiritual benefits we will receive when we feed on it.

The satisfaction we receive when we truly digest all that He is telling us.

The more we read the Bible, the Holy Spirit makes us aware of our sins.

And we grow stronger the more we meditate on what it says,

When we give our lives to Him we are assured of His forgiveness.

Our hope is renewed as He continues to direct our steps.

He gives us the courage to face any spiritual battles that come our way.

Defeating all the battles of temptation that we face.

Let us continue to encourage ourselves with the presence and promises of God.

His menu only contains the things that are really a nourishment in all our lives.

It will make our way prosperous, and we will have good success (Joshua 1:8 KJV)

We all want a well-fed soul.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, we all know what it means to be tempted to eat something we know may not be good for our health. How difficult it can sometimes be to resist temptation. We must find the strength to resist it. The same holds true in our spiritual lives. There will be times when we are tempted to do something we know goes against Your Word. Times when we really need to step back and look at all the benefits received when lead a healthy spiritual life. The Bible is the best menu we have, and we are to meditate on it all the time. It is the only meal that will give us all the nourishment we need.

In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
