See and Learn

Read: Psalms 25:1-11

Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths. Psalms 25:4 KJV

Throughout our lifetime we all have a desire to learn something new.

We sometimes find information about it from listening to others or searching the many resources that are available today.

We want to grow in knowledge.

Our greatest source for accomplishing it is through the Word.

The Bible is the greatest source of knowledge that we could ever ask for.

God is the greatest Principal and Teacher, with Jesus being one of His Teachers.

One who has the knowledge and experience in all subjects.

Repentance of our sins is one of them.

When we first come to read and believe in the Word, we begin to receive grace and knowledge.

During our teaching, sins become known.

The areas that we need help in understanding and learning how to correct our mistakes.

So, going forward we will be determined not to make the same mistakes again.

We tell the Lord all about them and ask for forgiveness.

Praying like David, asking Him to “Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths (v.4).

As the years go by and the Word is planted in us, we grow even more in knowledge.

The Holy Spirit begins to show us other areas in our lives that we need to change.

Sins that we may have felt were small and seemingly unimportant, but in fact were not.

Never feel that we have learned it all, we haven’t.

Things in life can change daily.

Even those who have been believers for some time still need and desire to be taught by the Lord.

Again, praying like David “For thy name’s sake, O LORD, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great” (v.11).

Our areas of weakness continue to be revealed, and the Lord helps us with them.

No matter where we are in our spiritual growth, the Lord is always there to teach us (vv. 8-9).

We must be the student that really desires to learn from Him.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Lord, we all have sinned and need to be taught the correct way to live. To listen to Your call to repent of our sins. We appreciate that You are the tutor we all can rely on. There to show us the way through all the stages in life. We are never too old to learn and change our ways. Thank You.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
