Saul was caught-up in the dark concerning his own spiritual state.
He thought he was doing good, but because he didn’t have adequate knowledge about how to do certain things. Therefore, he fell into sin.
He literally thought it was alright to go against the name of the Lord. He thought he was doing a service to God.
When he came face to face with Jesus on the road to Damascus Jesus confronted him regarding his sinful actions.
We often think we are doing the right thing, but we are not.
Blinded by the experience, Saul (who soon became known as Paul) would need a Christian to restore his sight.
Ananias was the chosen one. The Lord sometimes chooses us to aid where needed.
Even though Ananias knew of Saul’s reputation, was fearful of seeing him, he followed God’s commands and went to him.
Ananias was to be the face of courage and grace.
The situation was a life changing encounter for both men.
There will be a time when the Lord directs us to speak to someone. It can be a life changing experience for us also.
Know that our courage and grace-filled actions can be the one thing that helps bring someone to the Lord. Changing their lives for the better.
Giving us the motivation to continue to heed to His Divine calling.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, just like Saul, we can think that we are doing something in Your way when really, we are not. Thank You for putting someone in our lives, like Ananias, who is willing and able to speak to us and direct us to Your way. We will only find grace when we turn from our sinful ways, asking what You would have us to do and following Your lead. Thank You for your guidance.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
