Read: Psalms 38:9-22
But I, as a deaf man, heard not; and I was as a dumb man that openeth not his mouth. Psalms 38:13 KJV
We have all had a moment when someone says something insulting.
Their words bring us to a point where we feel the need to say something back.
Those are the times we have to remember that insult for insult will only make the matter worse.
Our situation will be so much better if we respond as David did to his enemies.
We know that David was sick because he had sinned.
He was weak and without protection.
He was in a position that he could be easily hurt, physically or emotionally (Psalms 38:1-5 KJV).
His loved ones, relatives and friends had deserted him (v.11).
Even his enemies were trying to find ways to hurt him (vv.12, 19-20).
But, instead of letting them get to him, he turned a deaf ear to them and what they were saying.
He put his hope in the Lord (vv. 13-15).
We can do the same in our situations.
Always putting our trust in Him.
Never fearing to ask Him to make us wise in our ways.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, even when others try to take unfair advantage of us, help us to restrain ourselves. Help us to be like David. We know we have times when we need to change our ways. To maintain our dignity by trusting You. Keeping from being subject to the things of the world. You are greater than anything we face. Because of faith, we know that You will always be there for us. That You will always have the last word. Thank You Father.
In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
