Strength Under Control

Read: Numbers 12:1-8

Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth. Numbers 12:3 KJV

Meekness is not weakness.

The Greek origin of the word “meek,” means “strength under control.”

It is power under control.

A person who is meek does not look at themselves as being more important than others but enjoys helping others succeed.

They are strong and powerful yet under control and willing to submit.

To be meek is not a terrible thing.

There are many who think it is.

But God sees it as a good thing.

Moses, who was in a position of authority, displayed meekness.

He faced opposition.

It came from his family and other people in his life.

In this passage, his was coming from Aaron and Miriam, because he had married a foreign wife.

They did not like the choice he had made.

Their pride was hurt, and they had bad feelings towards him.

Despite it all, Moses was still more than able to do the work he was called to do.

He stayed strong and in control.

The same can happen to us regarding the circumstances we face and the choices we make.

It can be painful, but we must remain patient.

No matter the circumstance, we must remain strong and in control.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Lord, there will be times when troubling circumstances arrive. Let us remember how humble Moses was. That to be humble is a good thing. Reminding ourselves that when we are humble, You will take us to a higher position. A position of great power. There will be those who do not understand why we do the things we do. But we know You are allowing us to be a positive influence on others. Thank You for helping us stay strong and in control.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
