2 Corinthians 3:2 KJV
Even in the days of the Apostle Paul, it was not uncommon for someone to carry with them a letter of commendation.
What we know as letters of recommendation.
Just like the letters of commendation attested to a person’s credibility, a letter of recommendation is a common attachment to a resume when someone is seeking employment.
It is an aid in helping a potential employer believe that the person in front of them is someone who is trustworthy and can get the job done. When they check the references, they get positive responses.
The same hold true when we minister to others.
We are living letters of recommendation helping to draw others to the Lord. Showing them that we are trusting and living according to the Word.
When we are faithful to the ministry, others see that the Lord is with us and that His Word is true.
It is always a joy to see the success when the spirits and lives of those around us are changed.
That someone has received the love of Christ and their hearts have been changed by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Just like Paul, we know all the glory belongs to God.
But it is good to know that our dependence on and recommendation of the Lord is being received; changing the lives of others.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, we know that others are looking at our lives. Where we come from and how we live. Let us show and tell them how our lives truly changed when we accepted You as our Lord and Savior. Recommending that they afford You the chance to do the same in theirs. That You are the one we can always depend on.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
