Just like our physical body is in need of a physician, so does our spiritual body.
We cannot put our sins behind us until we are ready to face them and seek the help of the Great Physician.
That is what Jeremiah was trying to prove to the people of Israel, but they would not listen.
He pleaded with them and offered them God’s healing, but they refused to acknowledge God.
The same holds true to this day.
There are sin-sick souls that are hurting and need healing, but they won’t come to the Divine Healer.
God is the Great Physician who is ready to forgive and heal us from our sins, if we would just confess them.
Jesus is the balm that the Father sent to die for our sins and be the medicine we need to be healed.
But it will not happen if we fail to come to Him and put our trust in Him.
Let us admit we need help and accept His Divine Remedy.
A WORD OF PRAYER
God, we know You are able to help and to heal us. There is no reason for us to remain in sin and die of our wounds and sicknesses. The blood of Christ is the balm in Gilead and His Spirit is the Great Physician. All-sufficient, ready, willing and able to heal us from it all. Let us not be the one who dies unpardoned and unchanged, because we did not come to You to be healed and saved.
