And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them. Luke 24:30 KJV
In today’s passage we are reading about two disciples that had been at a gathering where Moses and all the prophets were.
There was an individual that was talking about the Scriptures and all the things concerning Christ.
Little did they know, they were in the presence of Jesus.
They were heading back to their village and knew that it was getting late.
It would be dark soon and being concerned for this gentleman’s safety, invited Him to stay with them.
“And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them” (Luke 24:30).
As they ate “their eyes were opened, and they knew him” (Luke 24:31).
The veils on their eyes had been removed and they knew without a shadow of doubt they were in the presence of Jesus.
The same happens with us.
We hear the Word being preached, but we don’t see who He really is.
The same Jesus that was speaking to the disciples is the same Jesus that is speaking to us.
It is when we sit down and truly feast on the Word that our eyes are opened and the vision, He has for our lives becomes clear.
We recognize the Lord and begin to truly listen to what He is telling us.
Everyone has a place at the table.
The Lord is always ready, willing, and able to join us at the table, break bread with us, and talk about whatever is on our hearts.
To open our eyes and have us to see Him.
We are the ones who must make the choice to invite the Lord in.
How great it is to experience the pleasure and blessings we receive from communing with the Lord.
It is so filling and uplifting.
So great, we cannot help but desire the more to be in His company.
He is the Bread of Life, and we should all desire to let Him into our lives.
Take the time to invite Him into your life. To sit down and break bread with Him. To really get to know Him. He has a lot to share with us. Things that will open our eyes to all He desires for our lives.
You won’t regret it.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Savior, we know that it is when we invite You into our lives that the table is complete. You are the Bread of Life. It is a blessing that we can feast on the Word daily. A feast that lets us feed on the love, joy, and happiness You desire for us all. Thank You for all the uplifting conversations that we have and all the wisdom we receive. We pray that others will receive the Word. That they will invite You into their lives too.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
