Today is the Day the Greatest Birth Made Known

Read: Luke 2:8-39

And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them. Luke 2:20 KJV

Today is the day we celebrate the life of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

A day when we remember His birth and all the events that surrounded it.

In this chapter of Luke, we read how the shepherds first heard about the birth of the Savior.

They did not hesitate to go where He was.

They looked upon Him and found joy.

A joy that caused them to exhibit signs of glorifying and praising God (Luke 2:20 KJV).

Making it known that He was the Savior.

We read how Simeon, a just and devout man of God, even referred to the Lord as “A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel (Luke 2:32 KJV).

The people knew that the Lord had so much to offer.

The prophetess Anna even “in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem” (Luke 2:38 KJV).

We all know that the wisemen even had heard of His birth and desired to see Him.

They made their way proclaiming, “Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him” (Matthew 2:2 KJV).

Today as we celebrate the birth of the One who took on the image of man to save us, let us sound the trumpets loudly.

Letting everyone know we praise and adore the Lord for His amazing birth and all He has done in our lives.

Acknowledging that God gave us the greatest gift.

One that is not only enjoyed on this one day, but every day of our lives.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, today we celebrate the birth of Jesus. We can never count the number of blessings we received because of His birth. Help us to daily honor, worship and give praise for all that You have done for us. Nothing can compare to the love You show. Thank You for it all.

In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
