Vision Improved

Read: Genesis 16:7-16

And she called the name of the LORD that spake unto her, Thou God seest me: for she said, Have I also here looked after him that seeth me? Genesis 16:13 KJV

We all know someone who wears glasses.

We may be one of the ones who wears them. I am.

An eye exam helped determine what the strength of the lenses should be to help us see things better.

To help us to see things more clearly.

We all need “Spiritual Eyeglasses.”

The Father has given each of us an eye exam.

He has looked at us, saw where were headed and prescribed what we needed to help us see better.

Hagar was an Egyptian slave, who at some point fled from Abram’s tent.

She was out of her place, left her way of duty, and wasn’t seeing straight.

She was no longer doing things the correct way.

The Lord saw what was happening and sent an angel to tell her what she needed to be doing to get back on the right path.

He had seen her situation.

The way to correct it was for her to see what the Lord saw and wear the prescribed glasses He was about to give her.

The ones that would help her see more clearly the path He desired her to take.

With her improved vision, God became real to her.

That is when she was able to say, “You are the God who sees me” and that, “I have now seen the One who sees me” (Genesis 16:13 NIV).

It is good for us to be stopped in our sinful ways. To acknowledge that the Lord sees us.

To accept what the Lord sees as good for us.

To follow the path, He knows we should take.

So, when we are feeling alone and unseen, remember that the Lord does see us and knows what is best for us.

That we should see Him as the hope, encouragement, salvation, and joy in our lives, today and forevermore.

To be like the blind man and be able to say, “whereas I was blind, now I see” (John 9:25).

A WORD OF PRAYER

Lord, You know each of us and the directions we will take in life. The struggles we may face. That sin has caused us to lose sight of the path we should be on. We give You praise for watching over us and fitting us with “Spiritual Glasses” that allow us to see that our Father is still alive and watching over us. Thank You because You are the One who truly sees me.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
