The vision of Obadiah. Thus saith the Lord GOD concerning Edom; We have heard a rumour from the LORD, and an ambassador is sent among the heathen, Arise ye, and let us rise up against her in battle. Obadiah 1:1 KJV
There are times when we will be asleep, and God will give us a vison of what He desires us to do.
We are not quite sure what it means, but in time we will.
He is preparing us for what is about to take place in our lives.
We are given a “sneak peek” at what He wants us to do.
Obadiah had a vision.
He was going to be on a mission regarding the Jews.
A battle that the God chose him to lead.
You see, Edom was doing things against God’s will.
God was not happy.
He placed judgement on them.
He had Obadiah and the people revolt against and defeat them.
Edom had been found guilty of pride before the Lord (Obadiah 1:3)
They had thought themselves to be greater than they were.
They thought they could mock, steal from, and even harm the Jews.
But they were wrong.
The Jews were God’s chosen people.
We are His chosen People.
And like Obadiah we can say, “Lord God”, because he knows He is the sovereign power over the nations and would not stand by and let His people suffer forever (Obadiah 1:1).
To this day, as we read the book of Obadiah, the Lord is reminding us that despite the poor treatment we may face as long as we remain steadfast in the Word, our redemption is promised.
That His children can revolt against any enemy in battle and come out victorious.
Trust and believe. Our battle is already won.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, the enemy is always trying to bring us down. The visions You give always help us to come out victorious. We desire to receive more of them. To continue to hear Your voice. To “rise up” against and defeat the enemy in battle. Thank You for the wisdom and strength received. We could never make it without You on our side.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
