The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet. Nahum 1:3 KJV
There are many who know they need to make certain changes in their lives.
They know that they need to repent of their sins and trust God in all they do.
They start off good and then something causes them to get off track again.
It can happen to any of us. It is how we continue to handle things that makes the difference.
We have prayer warriors around us that are truly concerned and try to remain understanding.
They try to remain encouraged but get to a point where they become discouraged and feel that nothing will change.
Because of faith, they still hope the Lord will send someone to help open their eyes to the unnecessary pains they are causing themselves before it is too late.
In this book, we begin to see the vision of Nahem, the Elkoshite, the prophet of God.
Jonah had previously preached to the Ninevites, and they repented of their sins and were spared.
But somewhere along the lines, they began to lose their way and became worse than ever.
They were given a chance to change their ways.
That is where Nahum’s vision comes to light.
He knew that God is a jealous God, and the Lord takes vengeance on adversaries and wrath on his enemies (Nahum 1:2).
The people thought they could do whatever they wanted, but he brought them a reminder.
He reminded them that “The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked” (Nahum 1:3).
They needed to trust in God as well as the justice and power of the Lord.
Our lives are dependent on the obedience we have to the Word.
The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ is slow to wrath.
He is always ready to forgive, but he will by no means acquit the wicked.
There will be tribulation and anguish for every soul that doeth evil.
We should all desire to live right and avoid the power of His wrath.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Heavenly Father, the chances You give us should never be taken for granted. There is no room for excuses. Your Word tells us everything we need to know before we do anything. Thank You for Who You are and what the Lord has done and is doing for us. You are a good and gracious God. There is none like You.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
