Today’s Reading: Isaiah 44:21-28
Today’s Verse: “I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.” Isaiah 44:22 KJV
It is not hard for us to slip, fall, or go back into old, bad habits.
We can start a healthy diet and find ourselves returning back to the bad habit of eating junk food.
The same holds true in our faith-walk. We start out on a healthy path. Faithfully following and knowing God. But somewhere along the way we find ourselves turning away from Him. We find ourselves slipping back into sin. Losing our spiritual passion.
It is a blessing to know that we still have an opportunity for change. To receive God’s forgiveness.
Today’s passage is letting us know that God has promised to completely erase our wrong choices. He has compared our sins to a vanishing cloud. He wants us to return to Him. He has given us an open invitation to come back to Him.
When we repent of our sins, we need to drop our feelings of guilt. We need to stop carrying the weight of our past mistakes. God has already erased them like a vanishing cloud.
Continue to run toward grace. Trusting that your wrongs are fully wiped away. That you are given the opportunity to start fresh each day.
If you stumble or feel distant, do not hide out of fear. Turn back to God. He always offers mercy instead of punishment.
Redemption is ours. Christ has already paid the cost for our forgiveness.
Always let the fact that you are valued and given another chance change how you see your self-worth.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your promises. For sweeping away our sins. Your mercy is greater than our mistakes. We are thankful that You do not hold our past against us. Thankful that You paid the price to set us free. A redemption and cleaning we received through the sacrifice Christ made. We choose to turn from our wrongs. We desire to return to You. We want to be close to You. Help us to continue to live each day without guilt or shame. Thank You for forgiving and deeply loving us.
