Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid. Luke 8:35 KJV
There was a man that Jesus encountered in Gadara “which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs” (vv.26-27).
He was under Satan’s control.
When the man saw Jesus coming, he knew who He was and cried out to Him for help (v.28).
Jesus heard his cry and delivered him from Satan’s control (v.29).
His deliverance allowed him to return and live amongst the people, completely sane and respectable.
Many who knew could not believe he had been changed and were afaraid.
Satan, to this day, is still trying to use demon possession to express his hatred of God. He just does it a different way.
He tries to present things to us in a way that gets our attention because of the promises he makes.
Promises that give the impression we can do anything we want without any moral restraints and results in the immediate satisfaction of our desires.
But it is a trap.
One that puts us in a position where our lifestyle becomes one filled with many addictions, and shameful practices.
Ones that take away our self-respect, satisfaction, and any hope we have for our lives.
The good news is that it really doesn’t have to become or stay that way.
We don’t have to be trapped in sin, because Jesus has made a way of deliverance for all of us.
We must trust in Him for our deliverance.
When others see what He has done for us, they will desire to know Him.
Then we will be the ones to bring the message of hope to others who need deliverance.
Everyone should know that Christ died for our sins and no matter what we have done or are going through, He is there for us all.
Trust and believe.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Savior, we all want to feel relief in our souls from the feeling of guilt, and the fear of what will become of us if we don’t change our ways. If we don’t seek You for forgiveness. We know that all our help comes from You. Let us be like so many who pressed their way to get the healing touch that they needed. We want to be made within. Deliver us Lord.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
