O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
Psalms 136:1 KJV
A ‘psalm’ is a sacred song or poem used to worship.
We all can tell, write, or sing one that describes how God has been working in our lives.
They could be like Psalms136.
The writer was talking about the many things we should be thankful for (vv.1-4)
How marvelous God’s creations are (vv. 5-9).
How God delivered His people from captivity, conquered His enemies, and brought them through many situations (vv. 10-25).
He has done and is doing the same in our lives.
That is why He has given us the ability to be a living testimony of encouragement to someone.
To be the one that shows how God has been with us through all our trials and how He brought us out.
How He has been our protection and made provisions for us.
How even through our pains and tears, He has been there.
They would be showing and revealing the truth that God is merciful, and His love endures forever.
That we have not forgotten who God is in our lives.
For all He has done, we “give thanks unto the God of Heaven” (v.26).
There is nothing like being able to turn our experiences of God’s love into one that becomes a song of praise and thankfulness.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, only good comes from our giving thanks to You through our testimonies, writings, and songs. As we listen to one another express our feelings, we see how You are there to guide and support us. How You have blessed us in so many ways. Because of psalms, our hearts grow even closer to You. Thank You Savior. Selah!
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
