Be The Leader You Were Called to Be

Read: Luke 12:45-50 / Psalms 82

But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more. Luke 12:48 KJV

Leadership is the ability of an individual to influence, and guide followers.

They can build and use their skills to help others achieve their goals.

God has given each of us the ability to lead.

To be an inspiration to others.

He wants us to use all the knowledge He has blessed us with.

To take to ourselves what Christ says in His Word, and to inquire concerning it (v.41).

Not for recognition, but to help others see the physical and spiritual benefits found in the Word.

He wants us to be wise and avoid sinful actions.

The things that cause us more harm than good.

Unfortunately, there will be some who abuse their role as a leader,

They use it for worldly pleasure, and power.

They make people believe that they care about them, but they really care more about what they can get out of it.

Always expecting to receive some sort of gift or present in return for what they have done.

Forgetting that it is not about them, it is about the Lord.

They forget about the fact they must give an account for their actions.

Psalms 82 tells us all about the judgement that self-serving leaders will face.

How someday they will appear before God to give an account for their actions.

It is up to each of us to fulfill our God-given roles.

Because everything He has given us is for a purpose.

All we do is for the benefit of the kingdom, not ourselves.

Always remembering: “For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required” (Luke 12:48).

One day we will have to give an account of our lives.

We don’t want to be the one who received but did not give.

We should be grateful that God even trusted us to lead.

He has given us so much.

Let us be the ones to show our appreciation.

The ones who lead in the honorable manner He requires of us.

Make it a good account.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Savior, only as we follow You can we lead others in the right direction. Let us remain steadfast in the Word and let nothing cause us to go in the wrong direction. You have given us what we need, all we must do is be faithful and use them the right way. We are giving it all back to You. Let us be the leaders You have called us to be.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
